By day, I work as a Senior UX Designer, helping teams build products that are desirable, feasible, and viable.

Designing digital products comes with impacts—did you know the Internet causes more global emissions than the airline industry!

Since discovering Sustainable UX, I’ve been developing and teaching ways to create digital experiences that use less energy and create less carbon without sacrificing business goals.

To really reduce the planetary harm of design, and to do more regenerative good, we need to design for the more than human needs.

I created and published my own Life-centred Design & The Non-Human Persona Frameworks to expand modern design to include nature, animals, ecosystems, and marginalised communities, and have shared these with universities, organisations, and events across Australia and Europe.

I also experiment in futures and speculative design—exploring the long-term impact of design decisions on people, business, and the planet.

Much of that thinking grew out of my science fiction writing, which eventually became Future Scouting: a process, guide book, and game for exploring how to align today’s design decisions with values that will create a more sustainable and regenerative future.

Expanding what design can do, and who it can serve, means inventing new resources to think and design differently.

I’ve created guidebooks, tools, and toolkits that put Life-centred Design, Sustainable UX, and futures thinking directly into practice.

I’m honoured to have been interviewed by Thorsten Jonas and Leyla Acaroglu for their podcasts, and to be featured in publications such as the Ideia Magazine in Portugal.

I’ve also won a few humble awards for my design education game and book cover design.
