About me
Designer, Author, Futurist
Hi, I’m Damien, a designer, futurist, and writer in Sydney, Australia.
As a UX/UI Designer and Researcher, I help businesses understand their challenges and then deliver experience solutions that balance desirability, feasibility, and viability.
Through the activities of my two design hubs—futurescouting.com.au and lifecentred.design—I work to evolve design to be more life-centred, values-driven, sustainable, and socially kind.
I also dabble in sci-fi!

Life-centred Design
Evolving human-centred design to also consider the environment and social justice, I produced the first life-centred design framework↗ in The Life-centred Design Guide↗, The Non-human Persona Guide, and I founded lifecentred.design↗.
Designing Futures
To introduce designers to future thinking, I also founded futurscouting.com.au↗ to share my Future Scouting® book↗, course, game and toolkit.
UX/UI Design
As a UX Designer and Researcher, I design human-centred digital experiences for commercial and government projects that balance desirability, viability, and feasibility while being inclusive, accessible, and looking out for the vulnerable.

And at times, I’m honoured to be asked to talk and workshop about my futuring and life-centred design work.
Science Fiction
I started designing with the future with science fiction, speculating future technology, societies, and environmental states through three speculative fiction books.
Drone Filming
When I can, I get off the planet a bit to see it from above and appreciate things in a way I never could before—with my DJI drone.
