I'm a Graphic and Web Designer living
in Sydney, NSW. Starting out in print (digital and four-colour), I now work in online.
I'm passionate about simple and elegant design, and I love analysing and streamlining user experience. Although not a developer, I'm experienced in HTML, CSS and web standards to a level where I am able to build basic sites (like this one). When code and design work together, it's a beautiful thing!

Product Combinations

As a designer-based renovation company, it was important for Taste to display how their products worked together. One of the challenges when they first launched was the lack of photographic resources.

As an interim solution, I created a "Room Solutions" site section, by creating graphics (using manufacturers product shots) that grouped products together and showed how each room of the house could be fitted out with products from Taste, from the smallest utensil to the largest
piece of furniture.

DESIGN GOAL 2:
Improve User Experience

METHODS:
1. PRODUCT INFOGRAPHICS
To improve conveyance of text-heavy product information I created interactive "What to look for" graphics. These summarised and conveyed the same content in a more user- and mobile-friendly way.

2. "LIFESTYLE" NAVIGATION
To promote the use and benefits of subscription, I proposed a secondary navigation based on "Lifestyles" (such as "Planning a Holiday"). These categories would compliment the existing category-based navigation (Articles, Blogs, Videos), bringing related content together that is otherwise scattered.

3. TOOL BOX
I proposed a 'Tool Box' that grouped older, less-viewed (but still useful) content with more recent content (tutorials, calculators, interactives). This 'Tool Box' brought these tools to the top of the navigation heirarchy, promoting subscription value.

RESULTS:
Interactive, mobile-friendly content, and increased visibility of subscription benefits.
